The AZ 32 Targa (1975) was the clinching success of a bold intuition: solutions can be transferred from the automotive industry to the nautical world. The air intakes on the engines are the same as those on the Fiat 850 Spider Bertone, while the first openable sunroof to sail the seas, which gave the name Targa, made it possible to take the helm while standing up, with one's head out and one's face in the breeze. Over 200 were sold, and it was nicknamed the "Model T of the seas": one of Azimut's greatest successes.
