FREEDOM OF FORM

In 1991, Azimut ushered in a new age of technology: glass panes were now fastened with glue and no longer within a frame, keeping out infiltrations and noise, while also expanding the surface area of the windows.

Righini, Azimut designer since 1993, focused great attention on the shapes and arrangement of the windows. His panes became a strand, conferring a sense of continuity on the surfaces, and giving freedom to their forms. "Fisheye" windows bathe the interiors with light.

This characteristic elliptical glazing was endlessly imitated by competitors, but in 2000 Righini took Azimut yet another step further: his studies of harmony in marine life led the side windows of the Azimut 55 to become two bold shark fins.
